Hailey Joye is here!

Hailey was born on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 10:09 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. and measured 19 1/2 inches in length. Kyle and I are so happy she's here!

I started having early labor contractions Saturday afternoon around 4 pm. We didn't go into the hospital until Sunday afternoon at around 1:30 when the contractions finally got to be about 6 minutes apart. When we got to the examination room at the hospital the nurse checked me and told me I was only dilated to 2 cm. Kyle and I were pretty bummed about that and thought for sure we'd be going home to suffer through another long night. The nurse decided to keep us there for an hour of monitoring. When she came back I had dilated to 3 cm and a little bit of amniotic fluid had leaked out, so we ended up getting to stay, which we were super happy about. When we got to our room the anesthesiologist came in and gave me an epidural (which I was very grateful for). I was also put on Pitocin to speed up the labor, since I was just putting along. The Pitocin worked wonders. About an hour or so after being given the Pitocin I was almost completely dilated. The doctor wanted me to try to rest and descend (not push through contractions). We did that for a while until I felt too much of an urge to push and then I started pushing through contractions. It wasn't too much longer until Hailey joined us.

We love little Hailey.
