Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

I've been really slow about putting up our pictures from the past two holidays, so I am going to lump them together with pictures of our Christmas decorations.

Halloween
For Halloween we carved pumpkins with friends. Kyle saw a pumpkin carving technique online where you don't cut into the pumpkin, you carve into the skin. It's pretty cool. He wanted to try that this year. He decided to carve Ironman. Here are the results:

This is just a random picture of the two of us we took while taking pictures of the pumpkin.

Thanksgiving
I went in to work a little bit over the Thanksgiving break and Kyle had a project he needed to work on at school, so we decided to have a small Thanksgiving this year and just stay at home. It was just the two of us, but it was still pretty fun. We bought our Christmas tree and lights the night before, so we set up our tree during the day, and then had Thanksgiving dinner. A little backwards I guess, Christmas before Thanksgiving? Anyway, we cooked a small turkey breast and had Stove Top stuffing, gravy, Kyle baked some red potatoes (which were way super good), carrots and pickles, and I made rolls. Pretty much your average Thanksgiving. To drink we had egg nog and Sprite. I don't like egg nog, but I could drink it when it was diluted with Sprite. It actually was pretty good. It was super foamy though, and it filled us up really fast. For dessert, I made a Pineapple Sour Cream Pie (my favorite!). It was pretty good, except for the fact that you are supposed to use crushed pineapple and I bought tidbits, so it was watery. Kyle decided to freeze it and that took care of that problem. It was actually pretty good frozen. Anyway... here are pictures of our dinner.

Christmas
I was so excited for decorating for Christmas this year. We didn't get a tree last year, so I was super excited to get one this time. Kyle was really excited to put lights up outside, so it evened us out and we were both excited to go buy things for Christmas. Here are pictures of our tree and our lights outside. Sorry if the picture is blurry, we wanted to take the flash off, but it's really hard to hold the camera still, so it doesn't turn out all that well. I didn't get a good picture of the outside, because I couldn't hold the camera still enough to capture the lights without being it blurry, so use your imagination.

  1. WHAT??? We thought you went home for Thanksgiving. My mom will be so sad to hear that you ate alone. You could have totally come to her house. David's family and Grandpa were there. We were talking about you and assumed since your parents didn't say anything you must have been taken care of. I'm sorry we didn't ask. Next year you'll have to speak up. Are you going home for Christmas?

  2. April, don't worry about it. Kyle and I had fun together. It's not very often that we have an entire day to do nothing together. It was fine. :) I am going home for Christmas and I'm super excited about it!
