The First of Many Trips to Lagoon of 2014

'Tis the season for Lagoon! Hooray! We've been pretty antsy for Lagoon to open this year. Since we live seriously just 5 minutes from the theme park, we chose to buy season passes. Kyle really pushed for it- he loves Lagoon. Lagoon is a fond number of childhood memories for him. His family would drive all the way from Washington, just to go to Lagoon. They would meet up with family from Colorado and camp in the campground at the park at night and play, play, play on the rides in the day. Now that we live so close, how could we pass up the chance to take our girls whenever we want!?

Lagoon has been open on weekends for a few weeks now. We finally made it this past Saturday. We met up with the Burgins, some friends from our ward, and played for a few hours before heading home for lunch and naps. It was a blast! By the end my cheeks actually hurt from smiling.

I tried to get a picture of Hailey's "I'm so excited I'm at Lagoon face!". This is the best I got. That girl will NOT look at the camera, no matter what you do!

Kyle and I were unsure whether or not we should spend the bucks on buying a pass for Keira. She is still small and we weren't sure if there would be enough rides she could handle that would make it worth our money. Turns out it was a good thing we did- she loved it!

The dads (Kyle and Chad) ran off and rode the big boy roller coasters while Michelle and I hung out in Kiddieland with the little ones. I was a little hesitant to put Keira on very many of the rides. I'm sure next time Kyle stays and plays with us he'll be more adventurous and try her out on a few more.

Keira loved these whales. When it first started spinning her face spelled uncertainty, but after a few seconds she lightened up and was all smiles. It was funny to watch her ride, she didn't know what to do with her hands, so she held them up at her sides the whole ride. By the end of the summer we'll have those hands all the way up in the air and have her screaming for more. :)

It was so fun to go play with the Burgins! They have two kids fairly close to the ages of our two, Michelle and I are not so into all of the rides, and Chad and Kyle were free run off and ride whatever they wanted, so there was a riding buddy for everyone.

Hailey had a blast. When it was time to go we rode "one more ride" more than once. Hailey even got me on one of the bigger rollercoasters with her (bigger for little kids, smaller for adults) and as soon as we got off she begged to ride it again. Kyle said her face the entire ride was a huge smile (while I screamed with my eyes tightly shut!) Yes, I think these season passes were a great idea!

We'll be at Lagoon as often as we can this summer. Anyone want to come play with us!? Friends always make things even more fun. :)

  1. So fun Renae!!!! We loved our season passes to Busch Gardens when we lived in FL. You don't have to feel pressured to be there the whole day, which makes for a much more enjoyable time with little ones.

    1. Yes! That is what we are most excited about. We can go, hit a few rides and go home. No need to spend the whole day trying to feel like we got our money's worth. Too bad there isn't anything like that close to Tri-Cities. :(
