It's true... I finally finished my recipe book. I'm pretty excited about it. Now I can move on to other projects that I want to work on more. Not that I didn't want to work on that book, but eventually Photoshop was calling my name and I didn't want to tinker with InDesign any longer. I admit, InDesign is a pretty sweet program. I learned quite a bit. There is still a ton for me to learn though. I do feel comfortable with the basic features of the program, so I can guarantee I will use it again. Actually, I use it every so often at work for setting up new documents, or giving bleeds to documents that need one and are lacking one.
Anyway... here it is... the cover page to my book.
If you can't read it, it's titled: Renae's Good 'N Tasty Recipes That Came From Other People.
For those of you who know Astrobright colors, I printed the cover in black and white on Terrestrial Teal cover. There are section dividers that were printed on Terrestrial Teal text. The main body is printed on 20# white bond. I colored it in Photoshop to be close to the same color as the paper. The finished size is 5.5x8.5. I chose that size because it's easy to print 2-up (2 on the same page), to save money. I chose to coil bind it because it lays flat that way and is pretty durable. I thought about doing a perfect bind (paperback), but it doesn't lay flat. Even though it looks nicer, I wanted it to be more cooking or baking friendly. Yes, I am a total printing nerd... but there you go, all of the specs of my recipe book.
Oooh! How exciting you are finished! Good for you!
